Hello everyone,

In the past few weeks, I have been working hard on the Linux and Mac OS X versions of MPfm. I have to admit I underestimated the effort required to learn new platforms/frameworks; it’s not easy to learn Mono, GTK and Cocoa at the same time!

I also underestimated the effort of building an adequate architecture for sharing code on multiple platforms; I am finally happy with the result. I’ll share some technical details in future posts (for instance, how I implemented the Model-View-Presenter pattern).

I am now happy to share the first screenshots of the application on Linux and Mac OS X, which you can see on the left side of this article.

These screenshots show that the UI is still pretty generic compared to the Windows version. I will create custom controls once both versions are feature complete compared to the Windows version.

If you are a Windows user, don’t worry, the Windows version of MPfm will be updated soon with new features! I’m working on adding pitch shifting, displaying loops and markers on the wave form display, and more.
